Alliander is an energy distribution company that is responsible for a third of Holland's power grids. The energy transition towards using renewable energy from solar and wind farms bring many new challenges to grids that were already close to full capacity and designed for different use. To monitor customer compliance and mitigate risks to the power grid an automated data-pipeline was set up that collects customer data from metering companies. This data is analyzed on a daily basis to identify situations that create possible risks on the grid. These findings are summarized in daily reports. On a monthly basis the customer data is analyzed in depth to calculate the impact of this solution on their total energy production and to give recommendations to the customer how to optimize their energy production further.
To meet these challenges Alliander is rolling out a new product that will allow thousands of wind farms and solar farms to be connected to the grid in the coming years in areas that were thought to be at full capacity. Navara assisted Alliander in developing and implementing the digital backbone to this solution.
- Thousands of extra solar farms and wind farms connected to the grid in the coming years - Risk mitigation by automated daily monitoring of the power grid - Customer satisfaction by recommendations how to optimize their energy production
